In the middle of a white field of a former industrial zone, Zaha Hadid Architects and partners are developing a complex, mixed-use program that blurs the boundaries between housing, work, and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Historical and urban context<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Located on the site of the former Jurkovi\u010d heating plant from 1942, now a national cultural monument, the revitalization project brings the old industrial structure back into urban life as a gallery, coworking center and caf\u00e9. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By cleaning and decontaminating more than 30,000 m\u00b2 of land affected by wartime destruction, the project faced the challenge of restoring the city&#039;s historical layer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Urban development and program<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Extent<\/strong>: 5.5 ha with 20,000 m\u00b2 of public park, more than 700 residential units, 55,000 m\u00b2 of offices and commercial facilities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/architecture\/zaha-hadid-architects-unveil-skypark-bratislava-slovakia-05-22-2017\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designboom.com+1archdaily.com+1<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Construction sections<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Phase I saw the construction of three residential towers (105 m, 31 floors) and office space, completed by 2020.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phase II will see the construction of the fourth tower (2021\u20132024), a residential tower <em>Sky Park Tower<\/em> (119 m, 33 floors, under construction until 2027) and additional office\/retail facilities <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"924\" height=\"520\" src=\"https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-634\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main.png 924w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main-18x10.png 18w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main-640x360.png 640w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/sky-park-main-624x351.png 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Architectural design and parametrics<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zaha Hadid Architects used parametric design to create fluid buildings, designed with an emphasis on the continuity of facades, integration with the landscape and optimization of structural efficiency. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facades made of GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) were developed using parametric models, which enables a light, sustainable and visually refined finish of the mobile form with a layered bronze tone effect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public and natural dimension<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The park integrates a running track, sports fields, a dog area, children&#039;s playgrounds, green cascade zones and an amphitheater - a project by Landscape architects Townshend and Igor Marko <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pentainvestments.com\/en\/project\/sky-park-by-zaha-hadid\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pentainvestments.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ecological strategy was developed, which includes green roofs, perforated facades and the preservation of old trees in the network of public green areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical and certification aspects<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Skyscraper <em>Sky Park Offices<\/em> (79 m, 18 floors) was completed in 2021 and is LEED Gold and WELL Gold certified, confirming its commitment to healthy and environmentally friendly working conditions <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Similarly, the renovation of the heating plant retains more than 31,700 original bricks, structures and roof installations, while ensuring the authenticity and sustainability of the reconstruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What makes Sky Park important?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Transformation of industry into an urban community<\/strong> \u2013 with not only a residential, but also a public program, Sky Park is becoming a new city center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parametricity in practice<\/strong> \u2013 digital tools have enabled the creation of complex, road-integrated structures adaptable to the environment and construction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The end of Zaha Hadid&#039;s legacy<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Sky Park Tower<\/em> will become the last implemented ZHA project in Slovakia, and one of the last overall, with expected completion by 2027. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"691\" src=\"https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-633\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava-768x518.jpg 768w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/stiroton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sky_Park_Bratislava-624x421.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sky Park in the heart of Bratislava represents a key shift in the way architecture connects with the urban fabric.
